on July 28, 1951, in Benimamet, near Valencia, he
attended the Art School in Valencia from 1968 to
1969 and graduated from the university there in
1974 with a degree in architecture. From 1975 to
1979 he studied civil engineering at the Federal
Polytechnic in Zurich, where he obtained a Ph.D.
in technical science in 1981 with a thesis
entitled "Concerning the Foldability of
Spaceframes." In the same year he opened an
architectural and engineering office in Zurich;
in 1989 he opened a second office in Paris. He
has participated in numerous competitions in
Europe and America; most of his built work is in
Switzerland, Germany, France, Spain, and Canada.
